Steps to make to make Dal Makhani

  1. Wash and soak whole black gram & kidney beans for 2 hours.
  2. Boil it with sufficient water.
  3. Add one teaspoon salt, one teaspoon red chilli powder, one tablespoon ghee, big cardamom, cloves, bay leaf and ginger garlic chilli paste in it. Cook until soft.
  4. Heat butter in a pan.
  5. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  6. Add onions in it and saute them till they become transparent.
  7. Add tomatoes in it and saute them till they become soft.
  8. Add salt and pepper, coriander powder & dal makhni masala in it. Mix properly.
  9. Add boil dal in it.
  10. Add some water if mixture is too thick.
  11. Cook for some time on low flame.
  12. Garnish with ginger julians, cream and coriander leaves.
  13. Serve hot with naan or chapati.
